As a small business owner and crochet artist, I’m always thinking ahead—especially when it comes to craft fairs and events. There’s a large event that I’ve had my eye on for a while now. It’s still a couple of years away, but I’m already making plans to be ready for it. This particular event is well-known for its high foot traffic and dedicated shoppers, which makes it the perfect opportunity to showcase my handmade crochet creations, connect with new customers, and grow Christine’s Crochet Closet. I know preparation is key, so I’ve started mapping out my inventory, designs, and displays to ensure everything is polished and professional when the time comes. While the event isn’t until the future, I believe in being proactive. I plan to steadily build up a collection of ready-to-ship items—including patriotic designs, Texas-themed pieces, and seasonal favorites—so that I’m not overwhelmed at the last minute. Whether it’s cozy afghans, cute gnomes, custom flowers, or pet sweaters, each item will be made with care and creativity. Of course, life happens—and if for any reason I’m unable to attend the event, nothing will go to waste. All the items I make in preparation will be listed for sale online through my website and promoted on social media. That way, you can still get your hands on handmade crochet items that bring joy, warmth, and a little touch of Texas pride. If you want to follow my journey as I prepare for this exciting opportunity, be sure to subscribe to my newsletter and follow me on Facebook. And if there’s something specific you’d like made, custom orders are always welcome! Thanks for supporting handmade and small businesses like mine!
