🧵 Turning My Passion Into Purpose: How Crochet Became My Small Business
By Christine • June 3, 2025

There came a time in my life when I found myself unable to work the way I once did. It was a difficult season—full of uncertainty, frustration, and soul-searching. I began thinking deeply about how I could still contribute to my household, stay productive, and earn a little spending money without pushing myself beyond my physical limits. That’s when my thoughts turned to something that had always brought me comfort: crochet.
Crochet has been a passion of mine for many years. It’s more than just yarn and hooks to me—it’s a form of therapy, a creative outlet, and a source of joy and peace. Every stitch allows me to express myself and bring beauty into the world, one handmade item at a time. But until recently, I never really saw it as more than a beloved hobby.
That all changed the day I discovered Pam Grice—better known as Crochetpreneur. Her videos and heartfelt advice spoke directly to me. Pam shared not only the nuts and bolts of running a crochet business, but also the why behind it—the idea that you can build something meaningful by doing what you love. Her encouragement and practical knowledge opened my eyes to new possibilities. She made me believe that maybe—just maybe—I could turn my crochet passion into something bigger.
I realized I didn’t have to give up being productive or contributing just because I could no longer work in a traditional job. I could still build something. Something purposeful. Something beautiful.
Inspired and equipped with new knowledge, I made the decision to start my own crochet business—Christine’s Crochet Closet. Every item I create is made with intention and heart. Whether it's a cozy dog sweater, a patriotic afghan, or a handmade gift that carries sentimental value, I pour love and care into every single stitch. What began as a quiet dream has now become a growing business that allows me to connect with others, serve my community, and stay true to myself.
Starting this journey hasn’t just given me a source of income—it’s given me a renewed sense of identity, purpose, and pride. I’m incredibly grateful for this path and the people like Pam who helped me see that a handmade life can also be a thriving one.
If you're reading this and wondering if you can do something similar—my answer is yes. Dream big, start small, and let your passion guide the way.
